At 11 a.m. July 2, police detained a Beachwood man, 22, who had gained entry to the prescription medication drop-off box in the SHPD station, 3355 Lee Road, and stole pills. Officers summonsed the man for theft and transported him to a local hospital.

At 6 a.m. July 1, officers observed a Saturn auto weaving and driving over marked lanes in the area of Lee Road and Parkland Drive. A traffic stop was conducted and it was learned that the driver, an East Cleveland man, 27, smelled of alcohol and showed signs of intoxication.

The man failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI. He refused to provide a breath sample.

Receiving stolen property: Chagrin Boulevard

At 9:15 a.m. July 2, officers learned from an automated license plate reader that a 2014 Ford vehicle being operated in the 16000 block of Chagrin Boulevard had been reported stolen by the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority Police Department.

Officers located the car and arrested its driver, a Cleveland woman, 31. Police charged her with receiving stolen property.

Theft from auto: Sudbury Road

At 11:35 a.m. July 2, police were dispatched to the 3000 block of Sudbury Road, where a Shaker Heights woman, 56, reported that an unknown suspect stole her 9mm firearm and earrings from her unlocked 2014 Audi vehicle as the car was parked in her driveway. The vehicle and earrings were valued at $1,500.

At 9:55 p.m. July 2, officers were dispatched to the CVS/Pharmacy store, 17120 Chagrin Blvd., where they learned that a male shoplifting suspect, who was in the company of a female suspect, pushed a 17-year-old employee while attempting to flee the store.

Police found the suspect, a Maple Heights man, 31, and the woman, 36, of Maple Heights, the 16000 block of Chagrin Boulevard. It was found that both suspects were wanted on Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office warrants for burglary.

Police charged the man with robbery and detained the woman on the warrant. The woman was later surrendered to Cuyahoga County Deputies. Recovered stolen goods were valued at $20.

At 8:35 a.m. July 3, officers were dispatched to the 13000 block of Fairhill Road, where they learned that a Cleveland man, 37, had pushed his 37-year-old live-in girlfriend. The woman declined medical attention. Police arrested the man for domestic violence.

Auto theft: Van Aken Boulevard

At 6:30 p.m. July 3, a Chagrin Falls woman, 27, reported that an unknown suspect had stolen her Honda vehicle which she left unlocked, its motor running, outside the Cilantros restaurant, 20116 Van Aken Blvd. Officers tracked the vehicle into the city of Cleveland, where it was recovered. When found, the car was not occupied.

Having a weapon under disability: Chagrin Boulevard

At 3:15 a.m. July 5, officers observed a Ford vehicle traveling with expired plates in the area of Chagrin Boulevard and Lee Road. Police followed the vehicle and ultimately detained its driver, a Shaker Heights man, 48. It was found that the man had been drinking.

The man passed field sobriety tests, but was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm firearm. His record included a previous felony conviction.

Police charged the man with having weapons under disability.

At 10:25 a.m. July 6, officers were dispatched to the area of Aldersyde Drive and Lee Road to investigate a car crash. A woman behind the wheel of one of the involved cars appeared to be disoriented.

Police summoned medical attention and the woman, 53, of Hiram, was transported to the hospital. There, she admitted to illegal narcotic usage. Police arrested the woman for OVI.

At 1:35 p.m. July 6, officers were dispatched to the 12000 block of Fairhill Road, where a Shaker Heights woman, 33, reported that her 29-year-old boyfriend, a Cleveland resident, had assaulted her on July 2 while the two were in the city of Cleveland. The woman said that the man threatened to further harm her and damaged the door of her relative’s residence.

Officers located the man, who was wanted by the adult parole authorities for a parole violation, and arrested him for domestic violence.

At 3:25 p.m. July 7, a Shaker Heights woman, 29, reported that, on July 5, her boyfriend, 38, of Conyers, Ga., choked her and stole two of her firearms prior to leaving her residence. The woman resides in the 3000 block of Menlo Road.
